im just saying that over 90% of people who consider themselves christians really are scum. they think that just because they wear a cross on their neck and believe a god exists, that god will take them to heaven in the event of the rapture. so not nearly the amount of people that you would think would actually leave the earth. thats what i really meant by that. as for the 7 years of judgement or whatever, it wouldnt bother me much at all. i would be fighting for my life with the rest of the world and it would be survival of the fittest. so if i die, i am weak. if i live, i am superior and the challege would honestly be fun. you may think that im being ignorant but im being completely serious. i dont care if the rapture somehow happens because the 7 years after will be interesting and its not like im going to die alone. i would die with million (probably billions actually) of other people so i would find confort in that.

my point was that a lot of people are going to dissappear if this happens. Lets look at some made up numbers. lets say that 400 million people claim to be christian. I have no idea if this number is high or low for america you can find the excact number and do your own calculations. Now with your estimation that that 90 percent of them are crazy in thinking that theya re going to get to heaven we still have ten percent that disappear. Leaving americal with 40 million less people same day. that's a lot that leave from our work forces and our hospitals. What happens to that woman getting breast implants when her sergeon and aids leave. I bet you that she's going to die that day too. there will be accidents that will kill off more people that day because people are already missing. im jsut saying that there is going to be more people gone than you think weather they are called to heaven or die as a result there of.

Ironically, one of the biggest dealios in the whole bible (rapture, judgement day, revelations) wasn't even mentioned by Jesus. It was one of the disciples, I think Paul (please correct me if I'm wrong) who wrote revelations, which has the only physical desrcription of god or heaven in the entire bible.

not true, jesus talks about the tribulation in matthew 24
he talks about God, his Father, a lot

Oh? And does this talking about god include a physical description of some sort?
Revelations has nothing to do with Jesus: it was entirely Paul's 'vision', which was had after the death of Jesus.

I thought it was John's revelation, but yeah...You'd think after Jesus had come back from the dead, if he had known, he would have been more busy warning people about his eventual return and how they'd all go to hell if they didn't start believing by then...he wouldn't be using the scare tactic method, really, just warning all the people that he cared about so much..."Hey kids, start believing in me now, afore I come back with my dad and we get you!"

jk, you do bring up a good point. even if only 10% of self proclaimed christians were to dissapear, it still would be a lot of people. sometimes i forget just how many christians there are in this country... im moving to norway or sweeden or something to get away from all this.

Chapters 1,2,3 and 22 are filled with Jesus speaking. There is a whole lot of information about Jesus second coming. The whole book of revelations is centered around Jesus' second coming asnd the events surrounding it
the reason there is no physical description of God is because he is not entirley a physical being. He talks a lot about his power and all that shizaz

Back to "What to Live For"
I'm going on vacation to Pittsburgh (woo, far journey...) with the family for the next four days, but in the mean time I'd like to know what everyone thinks of the following... John Lennon's song "Imagine"
Imagine there's no heaven It's easy if you try No hell below us Above us only sky Imagine all the people Living for today...
Imagine there's no countries It isn't hard to do Nothing to kill or die for And no religion too Imagine all the people Living life in peace...
You may say I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions I wonder if you can No need for greed or hunger A brotherhood of man Imagine all the people Sharing all the world...
You may say I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will live as one

I would rather have people analize and give their feelings on this song. It is by a band called Marduk and the name of the song is "Jesus Christ... Sodomized"
Hang on your cross and pretend to suffer before your flesh gets cold you'll be mistreated rougher who are you fooling when you weep die must any wolf who turns into a sheep
hold on to your cross, king of perversions and flies in the whirlwind you'll face, no-one will hear your cries anticipate a horrible death to the cross nailed mary's pathetic tries to shit forth a king failed
jesus - son of rules halls up high jesus - it was you who scorched the sky jesus - hypocrite, you'll be the first to fry jesus - scorn defeat, shut up and die
jesus christ - sodomized we take no bow for angel child jesus christ - sodomized all you love must be destroyed
jesus - from the depths your death doom roar jesus - your glory days belongs to yore jesus - filthy scum behold abhor jesus - your mother was a stinking whore
jesus christ - sodomized we take no bow for angel child jesus christ - sodomized drunk of your blood we go wild
eat his body, drink his blood and be a slave under the yoke of god piss on christ and kill the priest, follow nature - praise the beast
jesus christ - sodomized we love to see you short of breath jesus christ - sodomized your throne we inherit on your death
bleed like a pig when with demons entangled bashed, ripped and torned, mutilated and strangled scream your lungs out is what you will do when with fangs and claws the fallen rip you in two
jesus christ - sodomized demons ripped you, your life blood ran jesus christ - sodomized one wound richer for each lie to man
Im just kidding, you dont have to analize it or give your opinion if you dont want to. I personally really like the song accept for the "praise the beast" part because I am not a believer of Satan.

Well joel, i would hope you are kidding. If you are not, you are a very week person. I know i am offensive sometimes... sometimes my goal is to be offensive. But usually i just post my opinions, which i feel strongly about, and they may come across as offensive. The song lyrics however were onviously offensive. I just wanted to see if anyone would respond at all and i also wanted to get this thing going again since posting seems to have stopped. Come on people, lets get posting.

How can you say with such confidence the faith you follow is not just one great lie. The problem with Christians is they put way too much faith in a book that most of them have not read completely. Christians can’t prove anything and the weak facts that they gather are put full of holes before the Christian that found them is done speaking. I never heard of an ape try to justify its existents so why the fuck do you think humans are so much better? You Christians cause more war and death in this world then make the claim you’re not a sinner and your god forgives you sins. It’s pathetic.

Well sirs:
As I am not acquainted with you all I will address you in general.
First, to the man with the "new" pledge -- that and your song are entirely reminiscent of the French Revolution. They looted churches and proclaimed a new religion: the religion of L'Etre, the Supreme Being, the light of Reason. It was the high-water mark of humanism, of man becoming all the he can, creating a perfect society on earth. Of expelling all the ancient myths of religion. Of changing society according to our expectations.
It was also the time of the guillotine. When they denied that Satan was personal and God was real, every man became a god and every neighbor was his satan. Thousands were sent to be executed because they either disagreed with the authorities or were of the wrong social class. Every moral being relative (in a humanistic setting, it is), they were free from the restrictive bounds of God and accountability and were free to purge their new society of the unworthies.
I could go on.
Before anyone can deny the faith of the Christian, he must first explain what his is. The Christian stands on a firm empirical historical basis of faith, of divine revelation confirmed through miraculous events, from the resurrection to the foretelling of prophecy. It is stamped with the blood of martyrs and sealed with the judgments of God.
This is my faith, and this is what I stand on.
What is the faith of humanism, and what does it stand on?
It did little for the unworthies in the French Revolution.

yes, roninjotatan, you are right. We, as christians do cause more war and bloodshed then any other, and for this i am sorry. More times then not a christian will be a hypocrite and for this i am sorry. I am a sinner and i sure wish i was perfect but i screw up. I'll cut you off while driving, i'll make fun of you behind your back, i'll do all kinds of stupid things because i am a sinner and i dont think before i act. I am sorry. I am sorry for the actions of all christians past and for all christians present. I cvan also assume in the future I will be sorry for the way christians act. I agree, its pathetic.
