you know... I once heard that there was more proof that Jesus walked this earth than there was for Abraham Lincoln... whether or not that is true is disputeable. But there are historical documents that support the truth of Jesus living on this earth outside of the Bible. There was never any doubt before (I believe) this past century, that Jesus was a real person. Whether or not He was who He said He was, was another arguement. But really, most people would say that He was a real person... if He wasn't, you would hope someone would come up with some evidence REAL fast!

This is going back quite a bit in the thread, but I was confused by your statement saying that the second commandment was the greatest one. That would imply that god saw (I'm not sure in which order you put the commandments, but I assume you speak of the 'not killing people' one?) killing as a worse sin than the other sins. This contradicts something you said on another thread about no sin being greater than another... Anyway, sorry if I jumped the gun by posting this, if someone already mentioned it or whatever. I was curious, so I asked. The first and greatest commandment is to love God the next is like it love your neighboir as yourself-not a direct quote but bclose enough for this sake. God is simply saying that our number one love should be God, number 2 should be other people. Hes not saying if you dont love God you are worse then someone else because in Gods eyes we are all equally sinfull or clensed by Jesus Christ.

No way. www.atheists.org/church/didjesusexist.htmlIts long, but you should read it. Frank Zindler (author) is amazing.

Haha, I thought I should point out something I found rather interesting. I have heard people on this message board trash anyone who could believe the Bible to actually be true and inerrant. These people paint Bible-believers as fools who can't think for themselves, and so forth. Yet, interestingly, I've seen many of these people use atheists.org and a few other websites in several posts, as if it is indeed true and inerrant. They then put their faith completely into what is said there. I think I might be catching a whiff of hypocrisy over here. Please tell me if I'm wrong though.

Ok, thanks Joel. I have looked at some of the articles, and I saw some stuff that I'm almost positive I know to be incorrect and false. I'd have to research a little though.

ooh, ooh... I looked at some stuff in the Bible too, and (how did you put it?) "I saw some stuff that I'm almost positive I know to be incorrect and false."

i think this part is false:
Isaiah 16:11 (KJV) Wherefore my bowels shall sound like an harp for Moab, and mine inward parts for Kirharesh.
personally, i think that when god farts, it should sound more like a foghorn than a harp.
