Ok, was it really that big of a deal, a boob poped out during the half time show of the superbowl. I saw it happen and admitably i went "ha uh, booby" (as i point at the Tv)....and i thought to myself...oh well...but then i wake up the next day, and all people are talking about (people as in news anchors) is how big of a deal it was, and that people lost faith in CBS as a family network.. But yet, they can have horses farting in girls faces, and other commercials about Erectile disfunction...which personally is far more disturbing that a bare breast. I've never seen so many damn ED commercials in my entire life. WE WERE BORN NAKED PEOPLE, and sooner or later, we are all going to see a boob, its not going to make us bad people..i doubt a little kid grows up to be a serial killer and then says "it all started when i saw janet jacksons boob when i was 8"...it was only for a split second anyway, it wasn't like a lingerie comercial where there are just about naked women on tv for extended periods of time. and im not even a janet fan and i still think it was fine and if i were a woman, i would say the same thing, this has nothing to do with my hormones. I mean, maybe JT was just checking for breast cancer. Maybe we can all learn a lesson from this, it was about brest cancer prevention people, thats all seriously though, it wasn't a big deal, and if you think it was, you don't deserve to watch football

Heh, I didn't see it, but I don't really think it's that big a deal, either, at least for CBS. It wasn't them doing the show; it was MTV, a network which is definitly *not* quality family programming or whatever...they don't barely play music anymore on Music Television...and indeed, it's absolutely stupid for people to complain about this after the "natural male enhancement" ads and lingerie commercials...yeah. The entertainment industry has pretty much gone to hell...the SciFi channel has now gone and gotten itself two reality shows, both extremely stupid, and a cartoon which basically metaphors everything with a sexual reference...not that I have any problem with joking around about stuff like that, but it's just overkill on what was once a high-quality network.

i heard the other day that Justin Timberlake said it was a "costume malfunction." haha i definitely saw him rip her top and expose a boobie. MTV and CBS both said they knew nothing of this and thats not how the routine went in rehearsels. I found it both amusing and humorous.

I had a feeling this was planned but now I'm sure of it. sheesh, entertainers will do anything to get people to talk about them. Janet Jackson apologized and said it was intended...that she changed the superbowl performance after the final rehearsal. She said MTV, CBS, etc had no idea of her plan. "Unfortunately the whole thing went wrong in the end" she reported. Well no kidding, Janet! Justin blamed it on a "wardrobe malfunction", but still...dumb idea, in my opinion. There's a difference between the Super Bowl and late night on MTV. Obviously there are going to be little kids watching the Super Bowl. Definitely not the time and place to rip off clothing. Don't even get me started about what my opinion of JT is...all I have to say is, gag. lol However, I kinda like the BEAT of "Rock Your Body" and several friends won't let me live down the dance I did to that this past summer at their house...but that's definitely off-topic. ;D

So yeah... what is the big deal? It's just a boob. The only reason we don't have naked people running around on TV is cus we are socialized to think it is 'bad' to be naked out of your home or private place.

And where do these morals come from anyway?
I'll give you a hint...
It has to do with America's dominant religion...
*cough*

ok mr. administrator....mr. stay on topic or i'll lock the thread. everyone except you left religion out of this and now people are gonna start arguing about religion in this thread instead of just talking about boobs...
(I know its somewhat related, but then again, what isn't)

I don't think it really matters if it was staged or not, dan's right, it has no affect on anyone anywhere in anyway and people are just overreacting. we'll all forget about in a week or two so who cares.

I dont know if this is completely true or not, considering I heard it on FM 97 but they said that a woman is going to sue now. She claims that seeing Janet's boob physically harmed her. I dont even see how this is possible... Geez I wish people would just grow up. Also there was supposed to be an episode of ER on that week that showed a woman's bare breast but because of the Janet thing they deleted the scene.

I dont think that they deleted the scene. they just blurred the boob i was half watching ER while trying to finish homework and i saw a blurred spot on the screne. I was wondering why they would have made a scene that they needed to blur in the first place, but that explains it. Also why is there rarely male nudity? Always when you go see a movie that involves nudity its always females.

I was talking to my boyfriend about that after I saw american wedding...cause I mean if any of you guys saw that you would know why the discussion came up, lol. Well what he said is that he thinks its even. I was like wait...what...I DONT THINK SO! He said that they show guys chests just as much as girls, but there is a little difference there. And then when they show full frontal nudity on girls he said its not the same because if they would show the front of the guy then you would be seeing everything but if you just see the front of the girl there is still a lot youre not seeing. I dont know...this is all coming from a 17 year old guy...and well we all know you you young men think

I heard rencently on TV that some woman claimed that they are only making a big deal about this becuase jannet Jackson is a black woman and that if she was white they wouldn't have made a big deal out of it. I think that is Ludicrous, but can anyone think of a reason why someone would think this way?

I dont think so...I mean if britney spears would have done it I think they would have reacted the same way. People are just so uptight now a days. Im guessing the reason they made such a big deal about it is because of little kids watching and because cbs is supposed to be a "family" network...also people are bored and just like to be able to fuss about something, unfortionatly.

I dont think that they should be complaining about the little kids seeing something bad. Its not really that much different than Madonna and Britney making out on mtv. And some other girl wore a "dress" to an award show with just a diamond covering herself. AND half the time the dresses arent leaving much to the imagination anyway. On a different note, the kids are getting "bad influences" from the game itself. The entire purpose of football is to have grown men hit the shit out of each other. THe NFL has always stood for things that little kids just shouldnt be watching. If your kid is emotionally scared for seeing a booby, its you own dumb fault.
