Hands up, how many of you like teachers that don't really teach - but instead, make you teach yourself off of a piece of paper or out of a book? What, no one is raising their hands? That's what I thought. ;D I may has well not even go to my fifth period class because my teacher DOES NOT TEACH. I swear, everything I've learned in that class has been from reading or watching a video. I can do that myself without adult supervision, thank you very much. Maybe it's just the stress talking, but I'm sick of so-called teachers in Warwick. We have a lot of great ones, but unfortunately, I feel that for every great teacher we have, we have one that is the opposite. Oh, and for those of you who don't go to Warwick, you can enter this conversation too and tell us about your experiences with bad teachers, heheh... Comments?

I agree, Mrs. Woodcock does not teach. I don't even know if she can because she has never tried.
I am fortunate this year...my best teachers are Mr. Fisher and Mr. Griffiths. They're grrrreat!

Mr. Lind... (enough said. *cough* blegh *cough*)
Mr Pillion... wow... just... wow.... (let's just say, he makes me want to get up and go into his room at 6am on a Monday morning to get good enough to get a 5 on the Calc AB AP test (and I'm being completely serious here))
Mrs. Woodcock? I have to agree with what has already been said...

;D ah yes, i would have to say that i do love pillion enough to come in for the math in the morning. And think of all those people who are sleeping when they could be doing math problems I do not think that there was enough said about lind. However, i will not be the one to say anything.

I have Lind, and I must agree, as far as teachers go, hes about as shitty as they get, not to mention queer. But i stopped complaining a while ago, and just sucked it up and took it as a learning experience. If you can manage to get through physics without a "teacher" i think you are pretty much ready for anything a college can throw at you. I don't mean to sound all teacher like, but it is a weighted class, you can't expect just to walk through it with ease, just because you have with other weighted courses, most of us taking physics haven't truely been challenged as much as we could have been, and this is a nice wake up, but what do I care, i have an A in his class, i'd probably be complaining more if i had a shitty grade.
But as far as woodcock goes, there is no faculty member for which i hold a greater hatred. Her class, unlike linds is not weighted, its about learning, period, not about proving your higher thinking skills like in physics. Even though mr blose is a crazy bastard, and wasn't the greatest teacher himself, he makes woodcock look like a pile of shit. I think they should just give us a book and then periodically give us book tests, only concerning info directly from the book, it would just be like a study hall that we read the history book and watched video's in.

I recall having this conversation before, Steve But yeah that class sounds pretty...pointless almost. I haven't had too many bad teachers. hmmm. oh yeah, my bio lab teacher last year sucked. She basically did nothing and then she'd yell at us for talking. Well maybe if she would have actually been TEACHING we wouldn't have been socializing ;D

Lindy in general is a bad person to have teaching classes. I got an 'A' in his class and i still abhor his actions and they way the taught or rather his lack of teaching. I could deal with teaching myself the subject matter because its just a matter of relating equations, but i loath the way he belittle the students. He ignored people in my class that had questions. Two of my good friends would always ask questions trying to understand anything and after a couple of months he started to ignore them when they raised their hands. Further more i believe him to be a hypocrit. Did he tell you how he is a quaker? possibly how he was in the navy on a nuclear sub/some sort of ship? quaker/ pacifist != navy. Further more he had the gall to berate one of his students in front of the entire class to the point of tears just because she was not prepared to take a test since she had been absent for a week. (This i heard from the girl so i may have a bias opinion.) Later that day just before i had class there was a fight in the hallway and half the class left to watch it. When they returned Lind scolded them for watching others hurt themselves for amusement. Indirectly for their lack of ethics. Sorry i go off on lind tangents simply because he left a very bitter taste in my mouth. oh, and one more thing. I guy that was a junior in college for a physics mayor read my physics book for fun one night . he said that when/ if i took physics in college to disregard anything that came from that book cause there are easier ways to do everything and it was all crap. Anyway now there has been enough said about mr lind. good thing this is in the vetilation chamber

As for Mr. Lind, here's something.
Look at his name tag. It says Jonathan Lind.
Then look at the plaque he has hanging on one wall. It has a different name - Richard, or Robert, something like that.
Anyway, the specifics don't matter - they are two distinctly different names. Very suspicious.
