For those of you who haven't figured it out yet, I am a member of the LDS church. In our religion we believe ouigi boards and taroh cards are not of God and we abstain from them. I am curious as to what you think of them, and also what your various religions teach about these games and/or other forbiden games of the world.
Hahaha my wording is a little weird in this thread. I hope it makes sense what I'm asking.

I have no idea about ouigi boards and taroh cards; I've never been in a situation where I've encountered them. As far as I'm aware their effectiveness has never stood up to scientific analysis - strangely, they seem to stop working in the presence of scientists.
I don't necessarily believe they're 'evil' as that's just a relative term, but I'd imagine there are a lot of con artists about who can make them seem to be something they're not.
The main difference between magicians and psychics is that the magician is honest enough to admit that it's just a trick.

By reacting to such things in the way your religion does helps perpetuate those very same things you dislike. In effect you are dignifying them (albeit in a negative sense from your perspective) Why not simply give them all the credit they deserve and laugh them off as cheap side-show tricks?
Both inventions are an example of what is possible if people don't question that which is being put before them properly. They are in fact a corollary of religion - while we continue to favor faith over empirical proof such things will continue to flourish. The more evil that 'good' religion sees, the more evil there is.
As a side note, don't you think that if there was really something to either of these (or countless similar) inventions, then the US military would be using them? This observation is highly pertinent as they have both the motive and budget to investigate absolutely everything in the persuit of an 'edge' over the enemy of the day.
We know for example that they are actively persuing 'remote viewing' which is very closely related to the phenomena of Tarot cards. Related by virtue of our perpensity to pattern match - a very well known form of cognitive behavior whereby we find it very easy to recognise features that we expect to see in 'noisy' conditions.... I'll give you an example:
Say you are waiting for a phone call, and you need to go 'powder your nose'. While you are in the bathroom washing your hands under fast running water (noise) you can kid yourself that you are hearing the phone ring.
You were expecting a signal, and your processing managed to pull it out from the noise. Processing has evolved like this with a high degree of false alarm ratio, because getting lots of false alarms is less harmful than ignoring weak danger signals. With Tarot cards your hopes and fears supply the signal and the cards supply the 'noise'. QED.
