Hello, my name is Joey. Just saying hey. I was looking for a cool forum for debate. I'm not very smart, but I like to debate. Is this a site that is about equaly sided? ok, thats all i have to say for now. Hi. I found this site last year and have found it fucking awesome for debate. It could do with some Christian/theist philosophical stuff (like C S Lewis-style shit, that's well thought out, interesting stuff), but it's fairly even, I guess. I think there is a fairly good balance between Christians, agnostics and atheists. Satori's into Buddhism. I think Christians are slightly overrepresented, though. There's certainly not much in the way of other beliefs. I believe JediKiller is Mormon. JohnnyJihadFace is an atheist. Right now, I guess I'd consider myself a strict agnostic; that means I don't believe that it's ever possible for us to know whether there is such a thing as a "God" existing, due to a lack of logical evidence. I'm also extremely interested in philosophical arguments against the existence of any kind of God. I am especially fond of arguments showing the inconsistencies, errors and illogicalities inherent in Christianity specifically. So I guess you could say I'm a strict agnostic who leans toward atheism, but more just against Christian theism specifically. What are your beliefs/ideas?

How do you figure that Christians are slightly overrepresented here?

Before you reply, keep in mind [the both of you] that this particular forum is off-topic and not open for debate. Thanks.

Well, I wouldn't really call the composition of this boards' members a religious debate, so I believe I'm within the bounds of "offtopic discussion", so I'm going to reply. We're just having a conversation.
There are three Christians who all post often here: Areopagite, Joel and Bobarian. Most members of other groups here mainly post more intermittently. This is just my opinion, though. Now that I think about it, I guess the actual population of members to these boards would contain more atheists and agnostics than Christians, as in number of people. What I was referring to was the frequency of posting. There is immense fluctuation in these other groups. As an example, Satori is arguably the only Buddhist who posts here frequently. And, to be honest, I don't know who all the Atheists are other than John. I s'pose the largest group here would be agnostics, but I don't know who they are other than me, and don't really know of many others who are frequent posters. Christians have a clear position and category and so seem more visible than other groups.
I apologise if my previous post offended anyone. It is more complex than I first stated.

We do seem lacking on the Islam and Jewish fronts.

yes, and all the many other scores of religious, spiritual and philosophical beliefs in the world. It's so hard to create a real, genuine picture of the world's relativism.

Yeah I didn't want to argue it, I just wanted to get an idea of what Shiggy meant. And I think that I understand what she was saying. I was thinking in the number of persons, in which the highest group of people populating the message boards would seem to be atheists and agnostics. As far as consistent posting is concerned, there are several Christians who have spent a lot of time on the message boards. Also, the posts of the Christians are much more unified (IMHO), and a thus more noticible. I'm thankful to Shiggy for clarifying her thoughts.
