Bush is such a horrid president.
Its too bad he is going to win. Kerry couldn't win an election against a garfield for christ's sake.
(look at me I said christ)

hey look i said right, not ring :-)
I dont know what you want to classify me as but i hate being told i am apart of the religious right or a conservative or right winger. No, im not a big fan of bush; if kerry didnt suck, id vote for him. Here it is the case of the lesser of 2 evils, bush in my mind being the lesser evil. Yeah I want to vote for a christian to be in office but i dont see bush as any more of a christian than kerry or clinton for that matter. I cant figure out why president bush is trying to prevent homosexual marriage, it just doesnt make sence to me. A non christian should never be expected to obey God's law. I think they should be expected to obey certain laws, such as murder and stealing but whos gonna get hurt if 2 homosexuals get married? another thing, war. I cant figure out why bush thinks its okay for him to call himself a follower of Jesus and then go into iraq and cause the death of 10,000 people over a hunch that there could be some explosives. Hes a republican which means he generally stands for the idea of making the rich richer and screwing the poor. I saw one source that said Bush's net worth is between 9 and 26 million dollars. Maybe this guy need to read luke 9:23 or mark 10:21. Usually evangelicals tare me apart for saying things like this, arguments about keeping marriage pure and justifying war because it was in the old testament. I just love the one about welfare. yes Bush does support welfare, what a joke that is.

I'm Australian, so I won't be voting in your election, but yeah, I totally agree with everything you just said about Bush. He is a disgusting hypocrite. Over the past month or so there have been something insane like 6 diiferent TV documentaries over here all about Bush's alliances with the Christian Right. Frankly it scares me. Think how much more damage he'll do if he's elected again. Our election is coming up on Oct 9th as well. I don't know who I'll vote for - Howard isn't quite as bad as Bush in the USA, but the other guy (Latham) looks pretty terrible. It seems we're all trying to decide the lesser of two evils!

How did you find out about this forum?
John Howard has stuck by the U.S. so I hope he is relected and the same goes for Tony Blair.
I know that the Europeans are a lost cause becuase they are too busy legalizing marajuana and appeasing the arab invader.
I talked to a few Australians about a year ago when I was at an airshow, and they said that they have their own problems with Indosian muslim terrorist. Hopefuly this will keep the Ausies on our side.
oh by the way, is it true that most Australians' acestors were criminals?

I did some internet searching to find a place to discuss religion.
I don't agree with the Iraq war, but I can see that if Howard had refused to join America we'd probably be screwed (the USA being the superpower that it is). At least we got the free trade agreement with the USA.
I see the war more as an economic strategy for Australia than as an absolute agreement with Bush.
Australia's colonisation was mainly from English convicts, yes, but many were guilty only of tiny crimes such as stealing a loaf of bread to feed their starving family, so it sounds a lot worse than it actually is.

Yes, it is currently spring here. Warming up nicely for Christmas holidays and skin cancer I take it you are experiencing Autumn (or Fall, I guess). Does it snow where you are a Christmastime? I don't really know much about the current Australian relationship with Indonesia. Not much has really been said since the election campaign. There's always some terrorism shit brewing (aren't there supposed to be Jemaah Islamiah training grounds there or something?), and last thing I heard was debate between the government and opposition over how to handle the situation (eg. whether or not to pre-empt, improving military defense and surveillance in the sea between Australia and Indonesia). I think the Indonesian Govt doesn't want Australia sticking its nose into their country too much (understandable) and got a little pissed when it became an election issue here without really consulting them. I think there have been talks about forming a co-operative Australian and Indonesian police force over there for surveillance purposes or something. lol, yes, NZ is a country. Austalian and Kiwi accents are very similar, but you can often tell the difference in a few specific words, especially short "i" vowel sounds. One stupid joke people always have about kiwis here is "fash and chaps" ("fish and chips")-- that's how a kiwi would pronounce it
